Code Compliant Solutions for High Performance Wood Framed Building Envelopes

Course Description:

This course explores the latest building codes for wood-framed building envelopes, focusing on code-compliant solutions for moisture management, air barriers, vapor control, and thermal performance. Participants will gain knowledge needed to evaluate traditional and integrated solutions for durability and compliance.

Course Objectives:

 After completion of this course, participants will be equipped to:

  • Identify the latest updates to building codes for wood-framed exterior wall assemblies.
  • Evaluate water-resistive barriers, air barriers, and thermal insulation solutions to meet current code requirements.
  • Compare and contrast traditional multi-product approaches with
  • integrated single-product solutions for code-compliant building envelopes.
  • Articulate the benefits of continuous insulation systems in minimizing thermal bridging and improving overall energy performance.

About the Instructors:

Since June of 2010, Katie has been focused on growing AdvanTech, ZIP System, Exacor and accessory products in the states of NH, VT and Northern MA as Regional Sales Manager. Her 25-year career in the lumber industry started in high school with a wholesale panel distributor and continued, following graduation from the University of New Hampshire in 2000. After a brief stint with a Canadian OSB manufacturer, she found her home with Huber Engineered Woods.

She’s a New Englander through and through (yes, a Pats, Sox, Celts and Bruins fan) and enjoys getting outside stand-up paddle boarding, boating, and hiking with her husband Josh and their black labs, Scout and Tully. Katie lives in Langdon NH.

Systems, HVAC and Energy Conservation Programs as well as heading up the Building Material Evaluation operation.

Mike Moriarty- Northeast Regional Sales Director

The Regional Director of Sales for New England and NY, in his 10th year with Huber. Joined as a Commercial Sales Manager (3 years). Mike has been in the industry for over 30 years working in Commercial Sales and Regional management for Velux, Marvin, Andersen and Huber primarily in the Northeast, but with 5 years in Chicago in the late 90s. Experienced in education, training, marketing, technical sales, channel development, building science and contract negotiation.

Enjoys travel, hockey, skiing, golf, boating, fishing, hiking and various other outdoor activities and big sports fan. Continually restoring and renovating an 1855 Greek Revival farmhouse (and no, it is never “done”)!
